What Defines the Coastal Style

Materials: White oak, ash, and maple with rattan, caning, and woven seagrass accents. Performance linens and cottons. Pebbled leathers in oyster and dune. Hardware in brushed nickel, soft brass, or matte white.
Palette: Earth tones in warm browns and honey, soft blacks and charcoal, stone gray, creamy neutrals, and natural greens like sage and moss. Accent colors in denim, clay, and barn red are used with restraint.
Forms: Substantial proportions, trestle and X bases, plank and breadboard tops, generous arms, square and turned legs, live edge options where the room calls for it.
Details: Exposed joinery, dowels and tenons, saw marks and rasping by request, hand planed surfaces, eased edges, rivets, and nail head accents. Drawers with deep sides and soft-close slides.
